The Cairo Opera House
The Cairo Opera House at the bottom end of Gezira can be a real treat. Check with the Opera House for what’s on while you’re in town. Jacket and tie are required.
Entry is often free or next to it.It is equiped with the most sophisticated audio-visual systems and comprises:
1) the main theatre, a closed hall, 1,200 seats used for opera, ballet and classical music.
2) closed hall, 500 seats, used for various purposes such as film festivals and conferences.
3) open-hall, 1,000 seats, used for training and rehearsal in addition to the museum and the library.
